Public Artist Selection Process for Aransas National Wildlife Refuge​

Interim Arts managed the artist selection process for a new public art commission at the Aransas National Wildlife Refuge, guiding the project from open call through finalist selection. Working in partnership with the Friends of Aransas National Wildlife Refuge, Interim Arts developed and administered a transparent and professionally facilitated artist procurement process.

Services included management of the Request for Qualifications (RFQ) and Request for Proposals (RFP), artist outreach and recruitment, applicant communications, submission management, panel coordination, meeting facilitation, and interview scheduling. Interim Arts served as the liaison between applicants, selection panelists, and stakeholders throughout the process.

The project attracted artists from across the United States and focused on identifying a qualified artist to create a permanent public sculpture that reflects the ecological significance of the refuge and enhances the visitor experience.
